Day to Day Itinerary

Day One
Arrival at Milan Malpensa airport.  Transfers provided to the hotel on Lake Garda.  Settle into the hotel and relax.  In the afternoon take a delightful walk along the lakefront followed by a welcome cocktail and dinner together.

Day Two - Lake Garda
Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy.  Not as well known to Americans but wildly popular with Europeans, it is a vacation hotspot and offers something for everyone. Explore the lake for the day.  First stop is Sirmione, called the pearl of the lake, followed by a boat ride to a private island on the lake. In the afternoon we continue on to the town of Salò on what is called the Coast of Lemons where we will enjoy a beautiful sunset, cocktails and dinner before returning to the hotel.

Day Three - Ferrrari & Verona
This is a true car lover's dream.  A visit to the incredible Ferrari museum is a must on this itinerary. We visit the museum with a guide who tells us the history of Il Cavallino.  We then dine at the restaurant across the street from the factory where Enzo himself would take his midday meal.  On return to Garde we stop in Verona, one of the most elegant cities of Italy, the legendary home of Romeo and Juliet and famous for its Roman amphitheater. Return to Lake Garda in the evening for dinner together.

Day Four - Mille Miglia Museum/Franciacorta
In the morning visit the museum dedicated to the car rally.  Located in a 12th century monastery, the space is beautiful and displays a comprehensive history of this fantastic event.  While having lunch at the museum our local expert will entertain us with stories of the Mille and its rich history. After lunch, continue the day with a vineyard visit to learn about this area's prestigious Franciacorta wines.

Day Five - Mille Miglia/Brescia
With special permission we get into the heart of the city to experience the excitement that surrounds the Mille Miglia. The city of Brescia is buzzing in the morning as the cars arrive to register and then are put on display in the main piazze (squares) around town.  The beauty of these cars in such a unique setting is truly special. Spend the day getting an up close and personal look at the entrants, chat with the drivers and enjoy the sights of the city. We gather for a late lunch and then again for cocktails before heading to the starting line to see the departure of the cars from a privileged vantage point.

Day Six - Free Day
After an eventful week, have a free day to spend as you wish.  There is no limit to what you could do - a boat ride on the lake, last minute shopping or just soak it all in with a day of leisure, a glass of Franciacorta and a good book!

Day Seven -  Modena/Alfa Romeo
Venture out beyond this region to Emilia Romagna. In keeping with the week's thime, visit the Alfa Romeo Museum. Alfa is one of the icons of the Italian automotive scene - one can't help but be enamored with its beauty. Continue on to a balsamic vinegar producer for lunch and an explanation of making this prestigious vinegar.  Return to the hotel in early evening.  Gather for a final dinner together to enjoy good food, good wine and good friends.

Day Eight - Departure
Arrivederci!  Transfers to the Milan Malpensa airport in the morning.
